5 Reasons I Get Nothing Done When Working From Home

16 Oct 2015

Heads Up Before August 2018 Saber was known as "BugMuncher", so you'll see the name BugMuncher instead of Saber throughout these older posts. You can read more about the name change here - BugMuncher rebrands to Saber.

Most days I operate out a local co-working space, but sometimes I’ll work from home. I’ve noticed I’m less productive when I’m working from home, here are the five most common reasons why:

Reason # 1 - Kittens!

My girlfriend and I recently adopted these two adorable kittens - Mango (girl) and Monkey (boy). In this picture Mango is serving as Monkey’s pillow, she looks pretty happy about the situation though.

Unsurprisingly, they’re quite a handful, and can be very distracting.

Reason # 2 - There’s always somethi- No Monkey! Don’t drink my tea!

They’re playful enough already, I really don’t want to introduce caffeine into the equation. Also, how awesome is my mug?

Reason # 3 - Hey! I only got up for a minute

Can I have my chair back please Mango?

Thanks for that contribution Mango.

Reason # 5 - Suspicious noises from another room

Wait, how did you guys turn the TV on? I’m not even mad, I’m impressed.

I wrote this while working from home. This was the arrangement:

Well, that was a silly post, but then it is Friday. Normal service will resume next week.
